Terms of Service

Last Updated: April 11, 2025

Welcome to DigitalPlat US.KG (“we”, “our”, or “the Organization”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit project offering public subdomain registration.

By using this service, you agree to comply with these Terms of Service. If you do not accept any part of these terms, you must discontinue use of our platform.

1. Nonprofit Nature & Community Commitment

DigitalPlat US.KG operates under a nonprofit public-interest model. Our mission is to support a free, open, and censorship-resistant DNS infrastructure, accessible globally. Our services are provided on a best-effort basis and depend on volunteer time, community resources, and donated infrastructure.

2. Service Availability & Disclaimer

We do not guarantee uptime, root zone inclusion, or uninterrupted DNS propagation. DNS resolution may be interrupted due to:

  • Registry-level actions (e.g. serverHold, clientHold, policy suspension)
  • External abuse reports (e.g. phishing, malware complaints)
  • Inclusion or removal from the Public Suffix List (PSL)
  • Blacklisting by security vendors or infrastructure providers
  • Internal policy enforcement or abuse mitigation

You understand and agree that the platform may suspend, revoke, or stop serving your domain without prior notice in cases of serious or unresolved abuse.

The Organization is not liable for any damages, data loss, or indirect consequences caused by the use or interruption of the service.

3. Registrant Responsibility

As a registrant, you are fully responsible for all use of your subdomain. This includes:

  • Hosting content that complies with local and international law
  • Avoiding abusive behavior (e.g. impersonation, malware, fraud)
  • Responding promptly to any policy violations or abuse inquiries
  • Maintaining accurate contact information
  • Protecting your domain against misuse by third parties (e.g. reverse proxies)

You are expected to proactively monitor and maintain the security of your domain.

4. Acceptable Use

We reserve the right to reject, suspend, or delete any domain that violates our Acceptable Use Policy, including but not limited to:

  • Hosting phishing, malware, impersonation, or criminal content
  • Registering brand-sensitive short prefixes without permission (e.g. github, login, paypal)
  • Automating or circumventing registration processes
  • Providing false or misleading information
  • Reverse-proxying third-party services to mimic identity (e.g. GitHub mirror)

We may act without notice in urgent cases to mitigate harm or reputational risk.

5. Registration Verification & One-Time Service Fee

To protect the integrity and stability of the platform, applicants may be required to complete identity verification (“Know Your Customer” or KYC) and/or pay a one-time non-refundable service fee (referred to as a “KYC Key”) prior to domain activation.

By submitting a KYC Key or completing verification, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • The KYC Key is a one-time verification token and is strictly non-refundable under any circumstance, including but not limited to domain suspension, DNS unavailability, registry-level hold (e.g. serverHold), or account restriction.
  • The KYC Key is non-transferable. It is tied to the verified individual or entity and may not be reassigned, sold, or exchanged between parties.
  • Submitting a KYC Key does not constitute a sale or transfer of ownership of the domain or any service guarantees.
  • KYC information submitted through this process is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws. We do not resell, disclose, or share personal KYC data with third parties except as legally required or strictly necessary for abuse investigation.

Your submission of a KYC Key constitutes acceptance of these terms.

6. Suspension & Abuse Resolution

We make reasonable efforts to notify domain holders via email before taking enforcement action. However, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or revoke domains when:

  • Serious abuse is detected
  • Contact attempts fail
  • Law enforcement or Registry intervention is required
  • Abuse threatens platform-wide stability or public security

Failure to respond to abuse notices in a timely and cooperative manner may result in permanent removal.

7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of California, United States. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Los Angeles County, California, in case of disputes.
